My name is Elsa Salo. I grew up in L’Anse, MI and am currently living in Dodgeville, MI, right outside of Houghton. I took piano lessons for ten years, and organ lessons for two years. Music theory was included in my overall instruction, and I also took a college level course in Music Appreciation, giving me a broader knowledge of music history and literature. During high school I was heavily involved with Solo & Ensemble, performing in piano at both the District and the State levels. I also would perform at local music festivals. After graduating from high school I went to Michigan Technological University and graduated with both a bachelors and a masters degree in Forestry. Currently I have been exercising my skills by playing piano/organ for churches. I believe that music is a wonderful means of opening the mind to creativity and expanding into a new way of thinking and perceiving the world. I would love to help pass my talents to others and to help them to grow and develop their own musical abilities.
Piano instructions can be given in my own home in a private setting with a piano, or in whatever situation works best for the child and parent.
